Industrial & business sites
Developable land and long-term ground leases on and around the field for manufacturing, industry, and commercial use, positioned for employers that value direct air access.
As an independent governmental authority, we work to grow aviation, industry, investment, and jobs across the South Tallapoosa County region, and we operate Mavhawk-Taylor Field (41A) in support of that mission.
Own, operate, and develop Mavhawk-Taylor Field (41A) as a safe general aviation airport serving the region.
About the fieldUse the airport and its land as infrastructure to attract employers, support manufacturing, and grow industry across South Tallapoosa County.
Industry & developmentA general aviation, public-use airport in Tallassee, formerly known as Reeves Airport. The field lies between the Tallapoosa River and Lake Martin and serves private business, and recreational flying for the South Tallapoosa County area.
The airport is being returned to active general aviation service under the Authority's ownership. Planned and current activity includes based-aircraft hangars, transient parking, and facilities to support business and recreational aviation.
The field is also an industrial asset. Direct air access, developable land, and room for hangars and business facilities position it to attract employers and support manufacturing, logistics, and investment in the area around the airport.
Pilots: always confirm current facility data (runway, lighting, frequencies, and fuel) against official FAA sources and the Chart Supplement before flight.
Growing industry, investment, and jobs is a core mission of the Authority. We work to turn the airport, its land, and our standing as a public corporation into employers, opportunity, and lasting economic growth for South Tallapoosa County.
The region sits within reach of Montgomery, Auburn and Opelika market, anchored by an established aerospace and advanced-manufacturing base. The Authority works to help existing employers expand and recruit new investment, offering developable land, direct air access, and coordination with county and local economic-development partners.

Building on the region's aerospace and advanced-manufacturing base to support suppliers, related industry, and a skilled workforce.
Highway connectivity and on-airport land suited to warehousing, distribution, and light-cargo aviation, giving manufacturers and shippers a base with both road and air access.
Hangars, aircraft services, and on-airport facilities that let companies fly in, base aircraft, and reach the region quickly, an advantage when employers choose where to locate and grow.
Coordination with the Tallapoosa County Commission, local industrial development boards, and workforce partners to recruit employers and connect them with training and available incentives.
Proximity to Auburn makes the field a natural option for college game-day fly-ins, and nearby Lake Martin adds recreation, second-home, and tourism traffic that broadens the local economy.
The Authority is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the Tallapoosa County Commission, together with its officers. As a public corporation, its meetings and records are open to the public under Alabama law.
